This is Snow patrol's album: Final Straw, the title of the album is a direct link to the image present on the front of the album displaying two partially drawn figures walking through a cornfield whilst the sun appears to be setting behind them. The genre of this album is that of indie rock and indie folk and because of this the genre is represented by the images of the album cover: The cornfield with the sunsetting is quite a familar convention recognised in folk or indie music videos and it this is reflected by the display. Then you have the faded 'typewriter' font look, giving a very soft and faint feel with the slight shadowy outline. The album cover gives a very simplistic yet symbolic first look, with the contrast of colours giving a warm and positive feel with the faint drawings of a couple with a bold statement giving you an indication that they music may involve these two characters and then there is the font which is also reminscent of the cornfield in the background therefore personifying the font as an element of the represented atmosphere shown on the cover.

Interesting cover. Be more precise in your descriptions and also explore further the appeal to target audience.
ReplyDelete"therefore personifying the font as an element of the represented atmosphere shown on the cover." Not quite sure what you mean here.
Jake three analyses due over two months ago and you should by now have completed planning for digipak and produced some panels. You said that these would be posted over half term?!
